The Chain Link Fence Commercial Double Gate Latch is a heavy-duty latch designed for swing gates. Made of solid heavy-duty metal, this latch gives off a tough and sturdy appearance. However, there is a major flaw in its design, as it lacks a strong stopping point. When pressure is applied to the gate, a large gap can be created before the latch catches and stops the gate from opening further. This gap raises concerns about the latch's ability to securely contain large breed dogs or deter trespassers. While the latch looks tough, it does not feel tough when pressure is applied. Despite its shortcomings, the latch can create a strong image of security when used in conjunction with a chain and lock. Installation of the latch is easy and it effectively prevents the gate from being blown around by the wind. However, some customers had issues with the latch not matching their prior gate latch or the dimensions being off. Some had to cut down the latch to fit their gate. On the other hand, customers who had a 4-inch gap between gates found the latch to work well in securing them. The latch is described as ultra-heavy duty and bigger and heavier than expected. Installation is straightforward, but it is worth noting that drilling holes in each post is required for supporting bolts. One customer provided a heads up warning regarding the security of the latch.
