The paper is a brown Bogus sketch paper, while the cover is the color of kraft paper. The interior paper is black, making it ideal for sketching with pastel pencils, colored pencils, charcoal pencils, white charcoal pencils, tinted charcoal pencils, light-colored tinted graphite pencils, and silver, gold, and bronze paint markers by Pilot. However, the paper is a bit fragile and has a thin texture that makes it difficult to use wet media. Ink, acrylic, watercolor, copic markers, and fineliners do not work well on this paper. Although the paper has excellent tooth and texture for charcoal, pastel, graphite, and colored pencil sketching, it is too absorbent and rips easily, making it unsuitable for gouache painting. The individual sheets are not separated by glassine paper, so caution is essential while handling the paper.
