Questions et réponses des clients

  • question: What is a Surge Brake Lockout Key?

répondre: A Surge Brake Lockout Key is a specialized tool designed to disengage the surge brake system on specific boat trailers. It prevents the brakes from engaging while the trailer is being backed up, allowing for smoother maneuverability. This is especially useful in tight spaces or when launching your boat. By using this lockout key, you can ensure that your trailer functions properly, saving time and effort during your boating experiences.
  • question: Which boat trailers are compatible with this lockout key?

répondre: This Surge Brake Lockout Key is specifically designed to fit UFP surge brakes found on various boat trailers, including models A-60, A-70, A-75, and A-84. Compatibility is crucial for the effective operation of the lockout feature, so always check the model of your trailer's surge brakes before purchase. Using the correct key ensures that the lockout feature works seamlessly, providing ease of use during trailer operation.
  • question: How do I install the Surge Brake Lockout Key?

répondre: Installing the Surge Brake Lockout Key is a straightforward process. Simply insert the key into the designated lockout slot on your UFP surge brake system. Turn the key to the lockout position to disengage the brakes. This action allows you to reverse the trailer without braking interference. This is especially beneficial in launching or loading your boat, where precision is key. Always refer to your trailer's manual for any specific instructions.
  • question: Can I use the Surge Brake Lockout Key for other types of surge brakes?

répondre: The Surge Brake Lockout Key is specifically designed for UFP surge brake systems, including models A-60, A-70, A-75, and A-84. It may not be compatible with other types or brands of surge brakes due to design differences. Using the correct key for your specific brake model is essential to ensure safe and effective operation. Make sure to verify your brake type to avoid compatibility issues.
  • question: How does the magnetic feature of this lockout key work?

répondre: This lockout key features a magnetic design that enables it to securely attach to your trailer or vehicle when not in use. This accessibility helps prevent loss, allowing for quick retrieval when needed. The magnetic aspect ensures that you have the key readily available, enhancing convenience while using your trailer. It is a proactive design feature that caters to users who frequently use their trailers.
  • question: Is the Surge Brake Lockout Key durable?

répondre: Yes, the Surge Brake Lockout Key is made from high-quality materials designed to withstand outdoor conditions and heavy usage. Its durability ensures that it will last over time, even in harsh environments, making it a reliable tool for boat owners. A robust lockout key contributes to safer trailer operations, reducing the risk of malfunction due to wear and tear.
  • question: What should I do if my Surge Brake Lockout Key is lost or damaged?

répondre: If your Surge Brake Lockout Key is lost or damaged, it is important to replace it promptly to ensure the safe operation of your trailer. Using a malfunctioning or lost key can lead to brake engagement issues while reversing, which may pose risks. It is advisable to purchase a replacement key that fits your specific brake model to maintain proper functionality. Always keep an extra key on hand as a precaution.
  • question: Can I use a regular key instead of the lockout key?

répondre: Using a regular key instead of the designated Surge Brake Lockout Key is not recommended. The lockout key is designed specifically to disengage the surge brake feature safely, which a regular key may not accomplish. Attempting to substitute could lead to unexpected trailer behavior, compromising safety when maneuvering your boat trailer in reverse. Always use the appropriate tool for securing your trailer's braking system.
  • question: Where can I buy the Surge Brake Lockout Key?

répondre: You can conveniently purchase the Surge Brake Lockout Key at Ubuy in Saint Pierre and Miquelon. Ubuy offers a wide selection of automotive accessories, ensuring that you get the right products for your needs.
