PORTER-CABLE Hinges 59370 Editorial Review
The adjustable door hinge jig has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from users who appreciate its efficiency and effectiveness in creating professional-level hinge recesses using a router. Many customers have valued its reasonable price and the inclusion of all requisite components, such as the router bit, which, while needing some initial sharpening, cut cleanly once prepared. The design of the jig also garnered praise for allowing sufficient clearance for both the router bit and the jig itself, suggesting it can withstand regular use if handled properly. Users emphasized the tool's time-saving capabilities, sharing experiences of lengthy processes that were vastly expedited by the jig—converting what once took hours into a much quicker task. Despite some minor critiques about the user manual's clarity, particularly regarding adjustments for different hinge sizes, most found it manageable after some experimentation. Some ongoing concerns revolved around the accuracy of the hinge placement, as several users noted that the tool's positioning led to doors banging into the stop moulding if adjustments were not made. However, many tackled this with minor adaptations, indicating that the tool's utility outweighed these setup hurdles. Though a few users pointed out the durability of the provided bits and screws as lacking, they offered alternatives to enhance performance and stability, such as substituting clamps for securing the jig. This suggests a potential for fine-tuning the jig to personal preferences, which further cements its popularity among DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike. In essence, this adjustable door hinge jig is lauded as a highly effective addition to any workshop, delivering accuracy and speed, albeit with some need for user familiarity with its mechanics. **
