TP-Link Wireless Access Points EAP787 Editorial Review
**** The Omada EAP783 Wi-Fi 7 access point is creating quite a buzz among tech enthusiasts and home users alike. With robust specs including four antennas and support for multi-link operation (MLO), the EAP783 promises to deliver exceptional speed and connectivity. Users note a significant performance increase when switching from Wi-Fi 5 to Wi-Fi 7, with reported speeds reaching upwards of 1700 Mbps—an impressive 1000% increase. Setup can be a little cumbersome, especially when configuring the three bands and various features, but once operational, the device seems to handle connections well across different device types, even older Wi-Fi 6E clients. Enthusiasts appreciate the ability to manage the router via a cloud or app, though many still prefer traditional browser management. However, the EAP783 isn't without its drawbacks. Users have pointed out that it runs hotter compared to previous models, which might raise concerns about longevity. Additionally, while there is great potential in this device, some users have reported issues with the 6 GHz band being temperamental—raising questions about software stability and overall ecosystem integration. The device's dependency on POE++ power supplies, which can be hard to come by, and its premium price point compared to competitors like Unifi have also drawn criticism. In summary, the EAP783 stands out for its impressive throughput and innovative features, marking itself as a forward-thinking choice for those ready to invest in cutting-edge Wi-Fi technology. However, potential buyers should weigh the cost, the power supply requirements, and reports of instability against their specific needs. **
