Questions et réponses des clients
-
question:
What are the key features of the Globe Electric 17000269 flood light?
répondre: The Globe Electric 17000269 features a 110-degree motion sensor, twin heads for adjustable lighting direction, and a powerful output of 240 watts. This flood light is designed for outdoor use, ensuring that you can effectively illuminate areas around your home while enhancing security. The adjustable heads allow you to focus the light where it’s needed most, making it perfect for dark pathways, entryways, or yards. Its hardwired mechanism guarantees a reliable power source, ideal for homeowners looking for a permanent lighting solution. -
question:
How far can the motion sensor detect movement?
répondre: The motion sensor in the Globe Electric 17000269 can detect movement within a wide range, typically up to 30 feet. This range ensures that the flood light activates before someone reaches your property, enhancing security. The sensitivity of the motion detection can often be adjusted, depending on your specific needs, allowing homeowners to customize it for their environment—whether it’s a busy walkway or a quieter area needing fewer activations. -
question:
Is the flood light suitable for all weather conditions?
répondre: Yes, the Globe Electric 17000269 flood light is specially designed for outdoor use and can withstand various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. The durable construction ensures that the light remains functional and effective year-round, making it a reliable choice for illuminating patios, driveways, or garden areas. Its robust design also helps in minimizing maintenance, allowing you to enjoy its benefits without frequent replacements or repairs. -
question:
Can the flood light be adjusted for brightness or duration?
répondre: While the Globe Electric 17000269 is equipped with a motion sensor, it does not typically come with adjustable brightness features. However, the duration for which the light remains activated can often be modified to suit your preferences, usually ranging from a few seconds to several minutes. This allows flexibility depending upon the specific use case, such as ensuring lights stay on as you approach your door or automatically turning off after a guest has left. -
question:
What installation options are available for this motion sensor light?
répondre: The Globe Electric 17000269 is designed for hardwired installation, meaning it requires connection to your home’s electrical system. Professional installation is recommended for optimal safety and performance. This permanent setup not only provides continuous power but also offers a cleaner look compared to battery-operated lights. Additionally, hardwiring ensures a higher output, making it ideal for extensive areas needing substantial illumination. -
question:
What type of bulb does the Globe Electric 17000269 use?
répondre: This flood light typically requires a high-wattage bulb that is compatible with the fixture's specifications, often using LED or incandescent bulbs for optimal illumination. The expected wattage for each head can reach up to 120 watts, making it capable of providing ample brightness for security purposes. Choosing LEDs is advisable as they are energy-efficient and long-lasting, resulting in lower energy consumption and maintenance over time. -
question:
Is it possible to use the flood light indoors?
répondre: While the Globe Electric 17000269 is primarily designed for outdoor use, it can technically be installed indoors if you have a suitable area requiring robust lighting. However, its features—such as the motion sensor—are optimized for external environments, such as driveways or gardens. Using it indoors may not fully leverage its motion-sensing capabilities, making it better suited for exterior applications where security lighting is a priority. -
question:
How does the motion sensor work in terms of night and day sensitivity?
répondre: The motion sensor in the Globe Electric 17000269 is designed with built-in dusk-to-dawn technology. This means that the light will only activate in low-light conditions, significantly reducing unnecessary activations during daylight hours. This feature is especially useful for conserving energy while still providing security at night. Homeowners can enjoy peace of mind knowing that the light will automatically respond to movement when it is dark enough outside. -
question:
For what applications is this flood light best suited?
répondre: The Globe Electric 17000269 is ideal for various applications, including illuminating pathways, driveways, patios, backyards, and security areas around your home. Its twin head design allows for versatility in directing light, making it an excellent choice for highlighting specific zones or providing overall outdoor visibility. This flood light is particularly beneficial for residential security solutions, ensuring safety and deterrence for potential intruders. -

GlobeElectric Flood & Security Lights 17000269 Editorial Review
The Heath Zenith Heavy Duty Motion Sensor Security Light is a reliable product for outdoor use. The light only activates at night, and adjustments can be made during the day. Customers who have used the product for several years said that it holds up well, but the plastic covering over the sensor can become brittle and crack. This product is designed to be wall-mounted and cannot be ceiling mounted. It does not work with LED bulbs. The unit is powered by direct connection to an electric power cable. Some customers reported that the light socket keeps blowing bulbs, and the unit failed after one week of service. However, most customers found the product easy to install and works well.
