The AquaSprouts Garden is an aquaponics system that fits any standard 10-gallon aquarium. It allows for growing plants on top of the aquarium where they absorb waste from the fish, cleaning the water and making for a low-maintenance system. Once the system is cycled and stocked there’s not much to do beyond feeding the fish and harvesting/re-planting if growing food. The pebble bed is 5 inches deep and comes with pebbles that fit perfectly. Any fish tank friendly substrate can be used on the bottom of the aquarium. The back has a 2-inch gap between the grow bed and aquarium allowing for a heater, automatic fish feeder, aerator and other aquarium accessories. The grow light is not included but recommendations include the Hampton Bay clip lights from Home Depot which securely and easily attach to the bar and the TaoTronics Highest Efficent Hydroponic LED light. Although the system doesn't include seeds and pods, it is a great entry point for those interested in starting aquaponics gardening. Some reviewers found the system noisy during cycling and expressed problems with evaporation and replacing water but overall the product is worth its cost. For those wishing to have a larger system, building a DIY project has been noted as being both cheaper and better looking than this product.
