EVANS SO14HAT Editorial Review
The EVANS SOBASS SoundOff Drum Mute for Bass Drums is a product designed for silent drumming practice. It is specifically made to reduce the volume of the drums, allowing drummers to practice without disturbing others. According to customer feedback, these drum mutes are effective in reducing the volume of the drums while maintaining a good double stroke roll. They provide a good alternative to practice pads, allowing drummers to practice rudiments on their bass drums. However, it is important to note that these mutes are not designed to eliminate ambient noise or heavy bass from speakers. They are strictly meant for silent playing, making them ideal for practicing at home without causing disturbance. In terms of sizing, customers recommend measuring the drum head and ordering the corresponding size pad. These mutes are laid on top of the drum, fitting the inside dimensions of the drum head. It should be noted that they may slightly change the feel of the drum head when used. Overall, the EVANS SOBASS SoundOff Drum Mute for Bass Drums provides a practical solution for drummers wanting to practice silently. It is effective in reducing the volume of the drums while maintaining a good feel for practicing rolls and grooves. However, it is important to keep in mind that these mutes are not designed for playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band.
